Tree service in Hoover, AL
From the old trees on Bluff Park’s ridge to the newer neighborhoods along the Cahaba, Hoover has every kind of tree job – and plenty of pines.

Tree work in Hoover
Hoover is the biggest suburb we serve and the most varied. It stretches from Shades Mountain all the way across the Cahaba River into Shelby County, and the trees change as you go.
Bluff Park sits on the ridge of Shades Mountain, with older homes, big hardwoods and steep backyards that drop off the bluff. Work here looks a lot like Vestavia: trees above or below the house, tight access, crane jobs and careful rigging so nothing ends up in the neighbor’s yard.
Riverchase and the neighborhoods around the Galleria were built in the 1970s and 80s among existing woods. The trees left standing then are now big – oaks and tall pines close to the houses – and many need thinning, deadwood removal or crown reduction to keep them safe over the roof.
Greystone, Inverness, Ross Bridge and Lake Cyrus are newer, with golf courses, lakes and large lots. We get called for pines killed by bark beetles, storm-damaged trees along the fairways and lake shores, and trees that are slowly dying after their roots were damaged when the houses were built. Lots backing onto woods also tend to fill up with privet and brush along the edge – we clear that too.
Many Hoover yards still have old stumps from when the subdivision was cleared. We grind them below the grass line so the yard can be sodded or planted.
Hoover is about 20 to 30 minutes from our office in Homewood, depending on the part of the city. Estimates are free, and for a tree on your house after a storm we come as fast as the roads allow.

Questions from Hoover
Do you work in the Shelby County part of Hoover?
Yes – Greystone, Inverness, Lake Cyrus and the neighborhoods south of the Cahaba are all part of our area.
Can you grind old stumps the builder left?
Yes. We grind stumps below the grass line and either leave the grindings as mulch or haul them off and fill the hole with topsoil.
Can you remove a tree hanging over the golf course or the lake?
Yes. These jobs need careful rigging because there is often no place to drop limbs; we plan them so nothing ends up in the water or on the fairway.
Reviews
What homeowners say about us
He was able to come out quickly to cut down a large rotten tree in my backyard. I had a few quotes before settling on RJ and he had the best price and was the most friendly person we had come by. He’s very friendly and professional and did a wonderful job. 10/10 recommend, if I ever have another tree issue I’ll definitely call RJ and his team.
Great price and service, highly recommend
RJ Tree Service is EXCEPTIONAL. I only write reviews for companies and people that just blow me away. RJ Tree Service does great work. They communicate well and clearly, tell you what they’re going to do, then do it. Very professional and they clean up any mess after the job is done. Pricing is reasonable and they are quick to get back to you.
